Sandal Cleaning Tips

Sandal Cleaning Tips

Summertime has arrived! This means sun, beach and BBQs. A lot of activities and that means your feet are active and probably in your comfy SAS Sandals. All these activities can take a toll on your comfy sandals. Open-toed shoes like sandals are especially vulnerable to dust and dirt in the summertime. Proper shoe care and cleaning, especially sandals which are usually worn barefoot, is also very good for proper foot hygiene and wellness.

Cleaning Leather Uppers

A simple home remedy for cleaning the leather uppers of your SAS Sandals is by having some water with a drop mild liquid soap, dampen a towel or rag with this mixture and and gently rub the leather. Dry with a towel and then let air dry, do not use any heat to dry the leather as this may cause discoloration or change the shape of the leather.

You can purcahse our SAS Shoe Cleaner for tougher stains.

And to protect your sandals you can purchase our SAS Water Repellent to protect sandals from future harmful mineral build-ups, significantly reduce moisture, and sustain the polish and shine of the shoe.

Cleaning Patent Leather Uppers

For cleaning patent leather uppers of your SAS Sandals by using a damp towel or rag and rub off any dirt or dust with a little elbow grease. Dry with a towel and then let air dry, do not use any heat to dry the leather as this may cause discoloration or change the shape of the leather. To remove any scuffs a dab of mineral oil on a rag works well.

Cleaning The Suede Footbeds

Follow these instructions to maintain the original good looks of your SAS Tripad Comfort Insoles.

  1. Stir one tablespoon of mild, liquid laundry detergent into one cup (8 ounces) of cool water until sudsy. This mixture is enough to clean the insoles of up to three pairs of sandals.
  2. Scrub clean with a toothbrush
  3. Blot dry with a clean, soft cloth.
  4. Finish drying naturally, away from artificial heat. Drying time will vary depending on the amount of liquid used. Allow up to 24 hours.
  5. Brush with dry toothbrush to refurbish the nap.

For tougher smudges, scuffs and stains a white, rubber pencil eraser can be used to take out mark and then a suede brush to bring back nap.

Or you can purchase SAS Footbed Cleaner to clean, deodorize and refresh the footbeds of all of your SAS Shoes.

Remember proper care of your sandals and shoes not only extends the life and comfort of your shoes but also helps you feet stay clean and healthy. Enjoy your summer in SAS Comfort!
